I have applied but not had an interview - what happens now?
We will be contacting you with full details about your enrolment from the beginning of August.
When will I enrol and what happens?
Enrolment starts week commencing Monday 17 August 2026 to Friday 28 August 2026.
On the day, you will undergo initial ESOL Speaking and Listening assessments based on the course that you applied for.
How do I know which campus to enrol at?
Report to the Old Mill Lane campus reception. Visit our Old Mill Lane campus page to familiarise yourself with the campus.
Do I need to bring any ID or documents to enrol?
Yes, you will be required to provide your GCSE results slip (if you are 16 years old and just leaving school) and a form of ID at enrolment. Photographic ID is preferred. You will need to bring the following:
- Passport
- A valid share code OR e-visa that clearly states your status in the UK
- 16-18 full-time students should bring attendance slips from previous school
For funding purposes (necessary to bring along if you have these):
- 3 recent payslips that are dated for the past 3 months (if you are in employement)
- Universal Credit payment slips
Will I get any financial support?
There are a number of different financial support schemes on offer for students studying at Barnsley College. These can help to cover some travel costs, study programme essentials, and a contribution towards food allowance and childcare support. Please be aware that students are not automatically entitled to funding, an application form and proof of household income should be submitted for assessment.

When will the term start?
For full-time FE students, the new term starts Tuesday 1 September 2026 and for part-time FE students, the new term starts Monday 7 September 2026. Your tutor will provide all the details about your induction and timetable when you enrol.
